The 2002-03 season is a landmark in the history
of the Old Kingstonian and Scorpions Hockey Clubs and Kingston Grammar
School. With OKs approaching its centenary year, for the first time
ever, the Club and School are sharing the same home base at Ditton
Field. This is the result of the OKs and Scorpions joining forces
with the School in its appeal to raise funds for the newly laid
sand dressed artificial hockey pitch and for the upgrading of the
pavilion, which is planned for the next few years. This exciting
project will provide one of the finest and certainly most picturesque
hockey venues in the region with two pitches and the clubhouse at
the same site on the banks of the Thames opposite Hampton Court
Palace. This excellent facility will help the club to maintain the
spirit of the 'Wick' that is an increasingly rare commodity in this
age of dispersed astro pitches and anti-social start times. It will
also help to reinforce the links with the school.
The OKs and Scorpions have committed to raising
a total of £40,000 towards the appeal over the next five years.
We would like to ask for your help in reaching this total. By making
a contribution you'll be helping to ensure the future of the club,
by providing the quality of playing and social facilities that are
essential if it is to celebrate its centenary in 2007 in a state
of robust good health.

If you are a UK taxpayer it is possible for the
school to recover gift aid on any contributions thus increasing
their value by 28%. Please see the following attachment for an indication
of how the value of your gift can be increased:

Charlotte Shaw for her generous contribution. As the widow of long

62 years, we will be delighted to comply with her request to relocate
Len's memorabilia from the Wick to the new pavilion in due course.
