COVID-19 Guidance

All players, coaches and umpires must complete the EH Consent Form before attending training or involvement in any games. You will NOT be allowed to train or play until registered. Captains and coaches will be provided with registers to check consent and record attendance, so that this information can be sent to England Hockey by the Covid Officer as part of the governments Track and Trace service.

Please note all players, officials, volunteers and spectators must undergo a self-assessment for any COVID-19 symptoms. No-one should leave home to participate in any form of hockey if they, or someone they live with, has any of the following:

• A high temperature (above 37.8 °C)
• A new, continuous cough
• Shortness of breath
• A sore throat
• Loss of or change in normal sense of taste or smell
• Feeling generally unwell
• Been in close contact with / living with a suspected or confirmed case of COVID-19 in the previous 2 weeks

This check should be directly done before each hockey session. By attending training, or matches you confirm you have complied with the self-assessment and are not displaying any covid symptoms. Should you have demonstrated any such symptoms, you must not participate. Instead you should follow NHS and PHE guidance, book a test and inform our Covid Officer ( immediately upon receipt of any positive test result.

Advice for Participants Please read this Advice for Participants before playing hockey. You will need to confirm you have passed the self-assessment check prior to attending ANY session, you must not be under travel quarantine periods, and no self-isolation / living with anyone with COVID-19.

KGS Pitch / Access Guidance

  • The school will ensure all pupils are off site by 13:00 each Saturday.
  • They have agreed they will ensure all pitch dividers and goals are in place so we don’t need to touch anything when we arrive.
  • The entry to the pitches will be the gate by the changing rooms and the exit is via the emergency vehicle exit on the other side of the pavilion.
  • The school will be putting signage up for the flow.
  • Changing Rooms will be cleaned but we need to come changed and go home sweaty! Changing rooms are ideally for toilet use only. Toilets upstairs in the pavilion will also be available
  • The upstairs area will not be open for use after games and KGS are unable to provide any catering. They will review this again at half term. This means we will not be offering teas to the opposition
  • No OKHC player should arrive on site (not just at the pitch side) before 13:00 for any games so there is no overlap.

Tiffins Pitch / Access Guidance

  • Only the ground floor toilets in the sports centre to be used (female opposite gym and male in changing room)
  • Changing rooms will only be available for the toilet facility, all members of clubs should come to school dressed in any ‘kit’
  • Clubs to ensure that only one member of their club to be allowed to use the toilet facilities at a time (especially clubs with children)
  • Reception area not available for parents etc to wait in
  • Clubs will not be able to seek shelter indoors if the weather becomes inclement
  • Clubs to ensure that the outdoor entrance to sports reception area is always free of traffic
  • Clubs to ensure that their members/spectators do not wait along the astro path
  • Clubs to ensure that they have enough staff on duty to make sure that social distancing can be observed
  • All clubs to follow any government guidelines specific to their sport/club
  • All clubs to provide their own risk assessment to the school when making a booking, no booking will be accepted without one
